ErgoDoctor – Providing practical ergonomic solutions since 1988.
Welcome to ErgoDoctor. For over twenty years, we have provided effective ergonomic solutions for a wide variety of business and government agencies. ErgoDoctor has built a reputation as a practical, cost-effective resource in preventing and managing ergonomic injuries and illnesses.
ErgoDoctor was founded in 1988 by Dr. Kim Davis, a chiropractic doctor specializing in ergonomics. In 1988 she designed and implemented an ergonomic intervention for the City of Redwood City, producing a direct cost savings of $300,000. She has founded and run multidisciplinary clinics in Palo Alto and Los Gatos, California, specializing in prevention and treatment of Repetitive Strain Injuries.
As an Associate Professor at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s West Campus, she created a sixty-hour Occupational Medicine course which she has taught since 1996. She also teaches Radiology and Bone & Joint Pathology. She has been selected as Instructor of the Year in 1995 and 2008.
Her education includes a BA in Molecular Biology from San Jose State University in 1985 and a DC from Palmer College in 1988. She became a Certified Industrial Consultant through Northwestern in 1989 and became an Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer at the University of Washington in 2000. She writes postdoctoral ergonomics curriculum for the University of Bridgeport. She has applied to sit the CPE Exam through the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics in November 2009. She is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the American Public Health Association.
Dr. Davis enjoys working with clients to create quantifiable productivity improvements, provide business cost savings and prevent human suffering.
"One advantage of a medical background is the often the individual has direct experience in treating patients who have experienced cumulative trauma disorders. This experience can be quite valuable when it comes to providing ergonomic assessments in the workplace. Many ergonomists possess the necessary credentials but have little experience in ever treating a CTD injury." (Ergonomic Process Management: A Blueprint for Quality and Compliance / edited by James P. Kohn, 1999).
